Email Setup Guide for Microsoft Outlook
Step one: Open up your version of Microsoft Outlook and then click on the File tab.
Step two: Now click on the Add Account button.
Step three: Select the option Manually configure server settings or additional server types and then click the Next button.
Step four: Make sure Internet E-mail is selected and then click the Next button.
Step five: Now enter your name and the email address you wish to add.
Step six: Ok you can now choose between POP3 and IMAP. We recommend however that you use POP so let’s select that.
Now enter mail.YOURDOMAIN.co.uk into the Incoming mail server field and mail.YOURDOMAIN.co.uk into the outgoing mail server field.
Step seven: Enter your user name which is the email address you wish to add. The password will be the password of the email address you are adding.
Step eight: Click on the More Settings button and then the Outgoing Server tab. Tick the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and leave the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option selected. Once done click on the OK button and now on the Next button.
Step nine: You will now see a Test occur to make sure everything is working, once you see these green ticks, you can click on the Close button and then the Finish button.
That’s it; if you check down your list of mailboxes, you will see your mailbox has been added and will be able to start sending and receiving emails straight away.
Please note: You can use the below steps to set up any mailbox. You will however need to use your details when we mention ours.
Also, the below instructions can be followed across different versions of Microsoft Outlook. The below example shows the 2010 version.
9. Your email account has now been added, click on the Finish
button to confirm.
10. That's it, you can now start sending and receiving email straight away.
